SpendGenie was born out of frustration with clunky expense tools that created more admin than they solved. We set out to build something genuinely different.

How SpendGenie started

Expense management was broken. We fixed it.

In 2022, our founding team was running a 30-person consulting firm. Every month, we spent three full days chasing receipts, reconciling expense reports, and manually entering data into spreadsheets. Sound familiar?

We tried every expense tool on the market. They were either designed for enterprises with dedicated finance teams, or they were so simple they created new problems. None of them felt like they were built for the way modern SMB teams actually work.

So we built SpendGenie. Voice-first, AI-powered, and designed from the ground up for small and medium businesses who need enterprise-grade expense management at an SMB price.
